4. Vachan Float Switch Wiring Guide
Accurate electrical signals based on the three float switch’s position require proper wiring. A 3-core cable, with red, green, and black colors, designates the black wire as the common connection.
For overhead tanks, the red wire with black is NO (normally open), while for sumps, the green wire with black is NC (normally closed).
The VACHAN FLOAT SWITCH, highly reliable and commonly used, operates by opening or closing the electrical circuit at an angle of ±65°.
The fluid level triggering the switch is determined by the cable length beyond the counterweight.
Using a longer cable, along with waterproof tape costing approximately Rs.15.00, to connect the connecting cable.
Crucially, the joint should always be placed outside the water tank, preventing submersion.
The Vachan Float Switch with Counter Weight can be connected in either tank filling or tank emptying applications depending on the required operation.
Tank Filling Operation (Overhead Tank)
In this configuration:
- Water level becomes low.
- Float tilts downward.
- Internal contact closes.
- Pump starts automatically.
- Tank fills.
- Water reaches the upper level.
- Float rises.
